Large Gold Pendants

Scale changes what a pendant can do. A large gold pendant gives a goldsmith room to work, and detail that would be lost at fifteen millimetres becomes the whole point at thirty. Ours are made in 22ct gold at our Southall bench, spanning statement devotional pieces where the deity form is rendered fully, and bolder contemporary designs meant to be worn alone against a plain neckline. The practical matter with a piece this size is the chain. Too fine a gauge and the weight works against the bail until it eventually gives, which is a repair we see often and one that is entirely avoidable. Tell us which pendant you are buying and we will match a chain that will carry it for decades rather than years. Length matters too, since a larger pendant generally wants to sit lower. If you like the presence but not the burden, ask about hollow construction. The outer form and the visual scale are identical, the weight is a fraction, and for anything you intend to wear regularly rather than occasionally it is almost always the better choice.
